LRI-U (LISMAR roll inspection – ultrasonic)
Latest generation ultrasonic roll inspection system for subsurface defect detection including internal cracks, inclusions, and debonding.
Overview
The new LRI (LISMAR Roll Inspection) systems are the latest generation of automatic roll inspection solutions from LISMAR.
LRI-U has been specially developed to detect surface defects using ultrasonic current technology. The LRI-U system works with the Intelligent Probe Position System (IPPS) and the LISMAR LRI platform.
The LISMAR LRI platform is an integrated part of the LRI-U system and displays internal cracks, mechanical and manufacturing defects, inclusions and debonding (in case of cast rolls) in the roll. Testing requires a coupling fluid.
LISMAR’s entire line of LRI systems have an improved probability of detection, have shorter inspection times, come with higher data presentation resolutions, can be quickly installed, are easier to calibrate, come with fewer parts, and can scan stored information more quickly.
The LRI-U system is typically combined with the LRI-E system to form the comprehensive LRI-EU system.
The LRI-U can be used for cast rolls and forged rolls.
