Tractor CVT Transmission

Class 3-8 Truck – Automatic

Titan Class 3-8 Truck – Automatic system for powertrain transmission applications. Test stations designed and built to simulate a fully functional commercial truck. Using two VFD Controlled Electrical Motors these stations simulate the input shaft from the engine and the output shaft from the drivetrain to make these transmission feel like they are at home in the truck they are meant for. Automatic transmissions commanded via CAN bus from a simulated Driver Interface Device (DID) to engage FNR gears. The transmission determines shifting points based on input/output shaft speeds, requested acceleration, and torque. These are CAN-based systems with the transmission controller and the engine simulation control working in harmony to apply the right amount of torque, engage/disengage the clutch, command the shift, and to smoothly transition from one gear to the next. The system includes a full computer-based NVH system incorporating accelerometers, microphones, laser vibrometers, torque and speed sensors. Live data is captured for the full test of the transmission, recording live data at up to 10khz per channel.

Electric Drive Gearbox

On the leading edge of automation and validation testing, our systems are equipped with an array of sensors (powered by sophisticated data acquisition software) that can check proper assembly, mechanical efficiency, parasitic drag, etc. Almost completely automated, our test systems accept a wide range of products/models and require minimal operator interaction.

Wet Clutch

Titan Wet Clutch system for powertrain transmission applications. Custom test station designed and built to test large commercial truck wet clutches. These hydraulic clutches rely on non-contact engagement to almost eliminate wear and tear by compressing oil forming a bond between the clutch plates. This test station fully functionally tests engagement/disengagement, lockup, and hysteresis.

CVT Transmission Front Cover

Titan CVT Transmission Front Cover system for powertrain transmission applications. This is a five-station assembly line for the front portion of a tractor transmission. The system aids manual operation of 1-5 operators depending on production throughput requirements. Each station uses manual material handling, but assembly operations are electronically controlled to assure each step is completed before the operator can move on to the next. It assembles various tapered roller bearings, shafts, gear sets, oil tubes, and bearing carriers to the main casting assembly. Bearing preload is measured through shaft rolling torques which are critical for product quality.

Transmission Drop Box

Titan Transmission Drop Box system for powertrain transmission applications. Single station assembly press for the front portion of a tractor transmission that aids manual operation for one operator. The system aides manual operation for one operator. The station uses manual material handling but assembly operations are electronically controlled to assure each step is completed before the operator can move on to the next. Components assembled include tapered roller bearings, shafts, gear sets, oil tubes, and bearing carriers to the main casting assembly.

Combine Transmission Assembly

Titan Combine Transmission Assembly system for powertrain transmission applications. This is a single station assembly press for the front portion of a combine transmission. The system aides manual operation for one operator.
