On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) testing will be required for all motorcycles in the United States by model year 2024. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has been in the process of evaluating the current European regulations and deciding how they want to create the US motorcycle regulations. CARB is currently testing motorcycles and collecting data to gain a better understanding of what they plan to make mandatory. A scenario that manufacturers are hopeful for is that CARB decides to harmonize with the European regulations to make both similar.

Hamownia motocyklowa Winterpark

W ramach przygotowań do wprowadzenia przez California Air Resources Board (CARB) nowych norm emisji dla motocykli drogowych (ONMC), WinterPark zainwestował w hamownię podwoziową SuperFlow CycleDyn. Posiadanie własnej hamowni wiąże się z wieloma korzyściami, takimi jak całoroczne testy i możliwość śledzenia zalecanych śladów jazdy w bezpiecznym, kontrolowanym środowisku. Hamownia jest skonfigurowana z programem wspomagającym kierowcę Burke-Porter, dzięki czemu można wykonywać cykle, takie jak World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC). Oprócz testów na hamowni, WinterPark posiada licencjonowanych kierowców motocykli, którzy mogą przeprowadzać testy drogowe w celu walidacji kalibracji i generowania danych statystycznych w rzeczywistych warunkach jazdy.

Since 2018 WinterPark has been working with motorcycle manufacturers to develop their OBD systems to comply with the current European motorcycle regulations. We are able to apply the experience we have in the automotive sector and apply those lessons learned to the motorcycle industry, so our customers are prepared for the upcoming CARB regulations. We are active participants in the CARB working group meetings to help develop the new motorcycle regulations and stay informed during the rule making process.
